    Sunbeam Socials - Winter 2012

Sunday 11th March 10.15 in the car park of The Old House At Home pub at West Wittering

On a crisp and sunny winter's day a couple of weeks ago we joined the Swallows for a bracing walk over Kingley Vale.  With fifty or more of us we covered some 5/6 miles of beautiful countryside and stunning views.  Even those with hip/knee replacements stayed the course!  After a rush for the bar we tucked into a delicious lunch before heading home.

After the success of this another walk is planned just before the sailing season commences.  Please meet at 10.15 on Sunday 11th March in the car park of The Old House At Home pub at West Wittering. We will walk to Rookwood, East Head and back to the pub for lunch when you will be able to compare notes with others on any changes to the harbour!  Please let me know numbers.Judy Howland-Jackson

    Julian & Gayle

The Class had a fantastic champagne cocktail party on Sat 4th Feb thanks to Tim Hill and Tiffin lending their house for the occasion. 76 people turned out on a cold, snow threatening evening. It was very jovial with the ladies providing some wonderful canapes too. Julian Money was presented with a stunning model of Penny, V42 in recognition of his captaincy and Gayle Palmer, the current CC, brought along some family winnings dating from 1939 (a "lost" siver trophy) to some Commemorative Regatta medals won by her father in Little Lady in 1951 and 53.
